Fashion historian Amber Butchart charts the journey of Huguenot silk weavers from Spitalfields to Suffolk, and looks at the impact of historical fashion and textiles on fashion today.
Amber Butchart is a fashion historian, writer and television presenter who specialises in intersections between dress, politics and culture. Her popular programme A Stitch in Time on BBC4 explored the lives of historical figures through the clothes they wore. Most recently she presented The First Refugees, broadcast on BBC4 in 2018 which told the story of the Huguenots of Spitalfields and featured our extraordinary 16th century French Bible baked in a loaf of bread.
Doors open at 6.15pm for an opportunity to view the galleries and shop.
