Lace-Making Demo in Rochester Art Gallery
September 14 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pmfree
Pop in to Rochester Art Gallery for a free lace-making demo by Hannah Robson surrounded by her exhibition ‘Bizarre and Curious Silks.’ In her work, Hannah explores the effects of light and shadow in two and three dimensions. She combines weaving with techniques borrowed from lace making, using metallic threads. Interested in the spatial qualities of textiles, she incorporates sculptural elements into her fabrics to create technically ambitious surfaces.
In this demo, Hannah will be developing one piece of work through the morning. Why not book on Hannah’s lace-making workshop taking place in the Museum in the afternoon.
This demo is part of a programme of events for our exhibition ‘Bizarre and Curious Silks’ in partnership with Rochester Art Gallery.
Rochester Art Gallery is on the ground floor of our building.
