Discover the breathtakingly appalling life of Huguenot descendant Joseph Merceron (1764-1839).

Discover the life of Joseph Merceron, gangster and corrupt magistrate, businessman and local politician, with the author of ‘The Boss of Bethnal Green’, Julian Woodford. Ruling Spitalfields and Bethnal Green for half a century, Merceron gave the East End a lingering reputation for ruthlessness and was recently the villian of the final series of the BBC’s Poldark!

Meet at the Huguenot Museum reception desk, doors will open 1.15pm.
